Valve - NOWVAL - Technical Data Sheet

Modified on Mon, 03 Jul 2023 at 03:25 PM

The valve is the key component that protects the customer from water leakage. When a leak is detected by a sensor, a signal is sent to the control panel which initiates the shut-off signal to the valve. If the valve is disconnected or the wire is damaged, the valve should automatically close.

NOTE: if the manual override knob stem is extended (pulled away from the valve actuator) the valve will not turn by actuator control. If you use the manual override feature, be certain to push it back for the actuator motor to control the valve.

Specifications

The valve must be:

  • installed so that the position indicator is visible to the customer
  • installed such that the manual override is accessible by the customer
  • at a maximum distance of 60 feet of cable length from the control panel
  • combined with a maximum of 3 additional valves on the same panel
  • installed after the main water entry valve
  • installed on a water line that does not have a pressure exceeding 150 Psi or temperatures of 100 degrees Celsius
  • installed where the actuator has enough clearance to be added on the valve body and easily removable
  • installed using thicker Teflon tape
  • installed in accordance with NOWA installation protocol
